Ladies, gentlemen, a brief announcement.
There is one hell of a lot more to FANDOM than writing kinky sex stories about the characters!
I am sick to death of people who see this activity as the be-all and end-all of fandom. Some of these folks don't even know what fandom is or its history. The term is being debased by people who assume that they have to establish their own "fandom" that has walls stronger than Helm's Deep.
Diversify, people! So you love Harry Potter? Go read Le Guin! A Wizard of Earthsea is fantastic in every way, and will not prevent you from reading more Harry Potter.
ataniell93, this doesn't refer to you. I know your interests are diverse. But some of these people!
Go to a general-interest science-fiction convention. Don't mention your particular obsession for an entire weekend. You'll be amazed at what happens.
Just had to get that off my chest.

Date: 18 Dec 2003 19:43 (UTC)While sex is an important part of life (I wouldn't even be here without it...), it's not the only important activity in which people engage. By extension, it shouldn't be the only important activity in which characters engage.
Then again, we're probably both preaching to the choir on this....
