The Sunday before Thanksgiving. At a store that sells, among other things, a wonderful selection of wines and gourmet foods from around the globe.

Busy, right? You bet! But what made it worse was that our credit and check verification program had crashed. We had to call in every single credit card and check transaction. On an already busy day. Some people got the clue, and paid cash, but I had people pull out the plutonium Amex for a $3.99 purchase.

Luckily, things fell off the map around 1900.. system came back up, and I don't think we had ten customers between then and closing.

When I realized I was about to have my first chemotherapy session. All of a sudden, the crashing reality of the idea that I had cancer, and I might be dead in less than a year if this treatment didn't work hit me full force.

Guarding a building that was being demolished. I was flat out told I could steal anything I found, break things for fun.. Only lasted 2 weeks, but I dug myself a new tunnel between my post and the bathroom.

Sir Winston Churchill.

5. What is one thing you would like to change about your appearance?

AQOTM, part deux!

As a I mentioned before, alt.atheism has a two monthly quote contests. No, I've been nominated twice.

Recently, one of our regulars had to unsub for personal reasons. We were saying our good byes, and giving him the traditional a.a. razzing, I chimed in with my usual good wishes, and added

(at last, my chances of winning an AQOTM have gone up!) (John won several, and was nominated every month it seemed.)

This was just nominated.
