KFOG's morning show often has local leaders as guests. (Note, this is not a normal morning show crew.. they're intelligent, and play lots of music.)
Today it was SF Supe Tony Hall, widely acknowledged as the most conservative man on the Board. He was announcing a proposal to split off the western half of the city from the rest of SF.
I forgot the date, and bought it hook, line and sinker. Even sent an angry IM to the crew.. which got read on the air.
Shame on me. :)

We actually try to wake up early on April Fool's Day for the KFOG fake out.
KARA, which I switched to in car after KFOG revealed the joke, was claiming a DMCA ruling said they couldn't use their digital library as it was all illegal copys. They had stored all their LPs and CDs, so to keep playing music they brought in a cover band.
