Thing is, the way Paypal has their customer agreement set up, they *can't* screw up. You only have the "right" to take things to mediation, and they get to choose the mediator.
They also don't fall under things like banking regulations.

I've always felt reluctant to trust PayPal. It's not nice to finally be vindicated, but...

I quit PayPal when my account was hacked and $500 stolen. I'm not surprised that some bureaucratic a-hole tried to pull this crap. I was relieved to hear that it was resolved, but still hope the jack-hole who started this was fired.
