Had a follow-up appointment with the dermatology department today. Every since my chemotherapy I have had wart-like eruptions on my hands (more recently up my arms as far as my elbows.) They are ugly and annoying. So i want them gone.

My first appointment consisted of freezing a few off in hopes of jump-starting my immune system to fight off the rest. Good luck with that, since my immune system is the moral equivalents of the Italian Army of WWII. Good enough against weak opponents, but folds in the face of an actual attack.

Today I saw a different doctor, and he expressed some amazement at the number, size, and range of my spots. Before deciding on a course of treatment, he wanted a "skin" sample. I put that in quotes because what he took was about the size and shape of a pencil eraser. I now have stitches and a follow-up in two weeks.

I'm never going to complain about a doctor being thorough, but can I please get an occasional medical incident that results in a clear diagnosis on the first exam and a clear treatment free of excessive side effects?

I rather hope you don't have such a medical incident; given your medical history, the only kind of medical problem I can think of that meets your above-quoted criteria is some sort of injury caused by an unfortunate interaction between applied kinetic energy and your body. I sincerely hope that your encounters with kinetic energy never result in physical trauma requiring medical intervention....

*sigh* The first doctor did it wrong, not the second. With that number of spots, some sort of biopsy should be done, just to be sure. And they can only do that by nipping off a spot and sending it to the lab.
After he knows it is safe, he'll just figure out the best way to remove the rest of them and you will be spot free again. :)
