After a heartbreaking loss last night, the Giants brought up perpetual minor-leaguer Ryan Sadowski to pitch in place of the struggling Jonathon Sanchez. How'd he do?

6 innings, 4 hits, no runs, 3 walks, 2 strikeouts. Kid also got tagged in the leg by a line drive and got his first Major League hot with a nice single in the 4th inning.

But Nate Schierholtz was the big story, 4 for 5 with a homerun and and an RBI.

San Francisco Giants: 7
Milwaukee Brewers: 0

Giants avoid the sweep. Next up?

Oh, [livejournal.com profile] aurictech... The redbirds are going DOWN! You get Lincecum, Johnson, and Cain. Lights out at Busch!

Sadowski also showed remarkable composure when he got a shaving-cream pie to the face in the post-game interview. In fact, something I've noticed is that a lot of the younger Giants players are really good in front of a camera, and don't sound like Randy Winn stilted and forced.

We could use that BofA commercial on terrorism suspects.

When he first started talking he was glancing nervously to each side. He knew what was coming, and took it well.
