Chatting with eleri has gotten me calmed down a little. I have another project to work on, and may contact Hero Games to see what they are looking for in terms of free-lance work.
You know, one thing Champions and HERO has never really addressed is the military. How would the mil address superhumans? How would they combat supervillains, a combination of special ops supers of their own or with special teams of normals armed with a combination of tech and tactics? What would it like, being a military super? Would they essentially be a whole different breed, analogous to Navy pilots in terms of standing, status, and attitude? Or would they be treated/treat others more like special ops like SEALs or Rangers? Hero Games never did a military book for Champions or for that matter for any of their genres, and I haven't seen anything like that on DOJ's publishing schedule yet. I for one would like to see it, either as a supplement to an existing genre or as a cross-genre book, with details available for everything from fantasy armies through superhero worlds all the way to space-borne militaries. Just some thoughts about how you could combine your previous expertise and your current one.
