Since it seems to be somewhat popular to make declarations of this type, I'll chime in.
Hi, my name is Doug, and I'm asexual. I have nearly no sexual desire or drive. This is another piece of fallout from Hodgkin's Disease and chemotherapy.
This doesn't mean I'm incapable of love, or don't appreciate the human form, I just don't care about the act of sexual intercourse.
Of course, this could also mean I'm a Vulcan.. which would explain the 7 year countdown calender Kirsten bought...

Date: 12 Oct 2006 14:51 (UTC)One of my coworkers, our token queer, has been really pissy at me (what's new though?) because, I just found out a few minutes ago, I didn't even know it was Coming Out Day the other day, much less making some kind of (phony to me, empowering to her) public gesture.
I'm on year 15, though admittedly I didn't really give up until around year 8 or so. It's hard for folks to understand that you don't miss sex, but you can miss missing sex.
