It's part on an obscure argument I'm having with an idiot over copyright law.
Says who?
That is EXACTLY what it means!

Actually, I heard something on the news just recently, that the legal
pundits were playing with copyright law, and they said, "these days,
you don't actually need a copyright. Copyright is established by
ownership. If you can prove "I wrote that", (a paper trail), then you
have a copyright. They added, but it certainly doesn't hurt to slap a
copyright notice on everything ANYWAY. With computers, it's easy! And
on the Internet, it's essential!
You don't need to tell me about copyright law! I know about copyright
law!
The issue is, can I enforce it? And those who insist on publishing my
private writing 10,000 places will be brought to answer!
