Oooh.. it's so big!

Everyone enjoy their little mental gutter dive? Stop snickering.
I'm talking about out new warehouse. Thing is huge. Tim and I figured that if you took the total area we have now between the current warehouse and yards 1 and 2, we could easily fit them into the new place twice over. Actual office spaces, a real break room, and multiple restrooms that don't require ducking past the water risers to use. Outside we have great parking, and a wide area where we can actually maneuver the trucks! Adam (our operations manager - the big boss) drove with us to the new place and showed us what was going to be done to it for us. The corporate office is going to consolidate with our operation, so there will be some new office space added inside the building. Even with that, the increased square footage and higher ceilings means that we'll be able to bring everything under one roof. Current plan is to have us park our trucks inside, but I suspect that we'll end up parking them outside in a fenced in area at the old loading docks.
The plan is to have the move done by the need of the year, including all the modifications necessary. This might delay my performance review, but Tim told me that he's already given me a glowing review to all the higher ups in the company. Turns out they only needed me for one run (which still took about 3 hours for loading, driving, and unloading with our "fuck it, it's Saturday" attitudes.) So I was heading homeward by about 0930. I was freaking starving, so I called up Kiri from the train and suggested that she meet me at the light rail station so we could have breakfast. It was good, and now I'm not going to wake her up again.
I'm really glad I went in today. Not only did I get some points for being the only driver to volunteer, but I got some inside dish on some things going on that I rarely see at the office, and it was fun.
