I was a good Samaritan today. While in the wilds of eastern Contra Costa County (mostly agricultural and open space) I came across two very attractive young ladies standing by the side of the road next to a VW that had obviously run over something very, very jagged. Front right tire was shredded. The waved me down, and I pulled over.
To make a long story very short, neither of them knew how to change a tire, they were both 18, and staring UC Davis this fall. We chatted a bit while I changed the flat for them (thank Ghu someone made sure they had a good jack and all the necessary tools in with the spare) about cars, college, and the importance of getting a new tire to replace the doughnut spare. I finished, stood up, and they both kissed me on the cheek! I think I actually blushed, since they caught me a bit off guard. That was the high.
The low came as I was packing my warning triangles back into their box. The girls thanked me again, then spoke to each other.
Blonde: "He was so nice!"
Redhead: "Yeah, he reminded me of my dad."
Her dad???.
(Does the math)
Shit.
