Really amusing thing has happened in an Ultracorps game I'm in. We started with six players. One was quickly booted for never logging in. Another was conquered in the course of the game. Then a third was booted. One player, Revan, hasn't logged in for a dozen turns. That left two of us.
Now I was losing this game. My last world had been taken, leaving me with a few fleets that had been running to that world (which had been my final home world. I was hoping to hole up there and rebuild.) Well, I took it back, and was thinking of sending a "I'm not dead yet, ha!" message to my opponent. But he quit.
Leaving me with an intriguing opportunity. I'm essentially starting out from scratch, worse than normal, actually. My one opponent may have abandoned the game, or merely be away on vacation. And all those fleets belonging to departed players are still there, sitting wherever they ended up. Can I rebuild, retake, and thrive?
Were on Turn 47 out of 999. So I have time to do this.
