That's what the odometer read when I got in the Shiny New Truck today and started her up for the first time. Checking the paperwork, this thing was built on May 19th.. of this year! My work truck has new car smell.

All the gates work, the latches are smooth, and they don't even rattle much. My seat adjusts six ways from Sunday, and is very comfortable.

Speaking of the gates, they are the lower model and I had no problems lifting and resetting them. The bed is low enough for me to climb over the gates when I just need one box or something. All in all, a good thing.

Now I'm happy that it is the weekend. Despite the gates being lighter, I'm still really feeling it in my shoulders.

Can you still just use the straps or do you have to use the gates?

Congrats on the new truck. I can't even remember what a "new car smell" is like.

Mostly outgassing of solvents, plastics and petroleum byproducts.

I could ask for straps to be added, but I prefer the gates. With the straps, I have to be extremely careful with my loading and removing one pallet or bundle often involved unstrapping and restrapping several points. It took time and extra effort. Now, I can usually remove one or two gates for each drop.

These gates are smaller, and the truck bed lower, than the ones that caused me so much trouble early on. Lifting them is no problem, its just amtter of building up the muscles to be able to do it multiple times a day with no pain.

Cool. Faster, easier, and without pain. That's good when it comes to a job. :)
