I spent the weekend being pretty sedentary. A bad case of the blahs combined with fairly icky weather to keep me soggy and hard to light.

Today I had to rouse myself from my torpor and sally forth into the Big Blue Room. I had to head out to a staffing agency to fill out paperwork for the driving job [livejournal.com profile] johno had clued me in on. On that subject, why isn't everyone using online applications? so much easier (especially when you consider my penmanship) and you can print out a new copy of my vitals when needed. Ah, well. I should be hearing from the owner sometime this week about an interview.

This gig is one where I'd be going places and driving a van up and down streets. Inside the van is a sensor package that detects cell phone repeaters. It rates the power of the signal, and maps it. All I have to do is sign in and follow the directions of the GPS unit. Decent pay, and a good per diem. Only drawback is I'd be away from my Kiri for weeks at a time.

This morning the weather was lovely when I left the house. The weather report said we could expect a storm arriving this evening. Well, the storm didn't listen to the weathermen. When I left the agency, it was already gray and ugly. By the time I made it back to the light rail stop, the wind was picking up and rain was starting to spit. All I had was my Giants windbreaker, so the wait for my two trains was not pleasant in the least.

Finally get home and check Ultracorps. Lost one world, but Ckat paid dearly for it. I'm still building up for Operation: Viper, my big offensive. Another four turns, I think.

Have an interview Thursday at 1330 for a dispatcher position.

Tonight, we go to BASFA - assuming Kiri wakes up and I don't fall asleep.

Good luck with the new opportunity; sounds like a neat job. Ironically enough, I saw one of the ads for your previous employer recently.

Which one? "Full House" or the one that actually shows a truck for more than a half second?

Full house. The truck appeared momentarily in a fast forward shot. Looked quite neat.

You bastard! You'll put the "Can you hear me now? ...Good." guy out of a job! It's John Henry all over again.

Amusingly enough, that's exactly how the job was described to me. I was also advised not to make that joke to the owner of the company when I'm interviewed.
