A possibly silly speculative thought: is it possible PODS let you go because of your upcoming dental work? It might have been enough to raise their insurance rates, and thus letting you go makes economic sense. I know that's not supposed to happen, but there's a lot of reports out of the US that it does happen a fair bit.
