Well, I made it to work for the latest meeting. Which actually turned out to be informative and useful. And as usual, I made my Regional Manager pass coffee out his nose with a well-timed comment.

Spoke with said RM for a bit in private. I'm amazed to learn that I'm one of the people they've tagged as potential warehouse managers when we expand. This is going to require some serious thought.

But on the bad side, Kirsten's cold has hit me full force. I'm feverish, aching, and have the usual cough and sniffles. Since I had a warehouse day today with nothing to do, I was offered the chance to come home. Believe me, I took that with both hands and bailed. Normally I'd tough the shift out, but I really feel awful, and with a day off tomorrow, I want to give myself the maximum rest time.

So, here I sit. I'm going to grab a hot shower (those always make me feel better) and get into some more comfortable clothes, then probably try to finish the outline/time line for the Concordat so I can post it for commentary.

Or I'll just play Nethack, if writing appears to be beyond my capabilities today.

If you're not using Zicam or some other Zinc Gluconate supplement, do. It's the only thing out there scientifically shown to lessen the duration of the common cold.

Tell [livejournal.com profile] kshandra I said she should be using it too and give her a hug for me.

Oh yeah -- here's some virtual chicken soup (homemade, of course) for both of you.

Managers, of course, make more money

Would you have to give up driving to do it?

That's the drawback. I'd still get to play with the forklift.

This is all a few years down the road, so I have time to get tired of driving before it comes about.

Postive feedback on your job and future is always nice. And I doubt you'd put up with much BS or give it for that matter, so I expect people would respect you for that as a manager.

Hope you get to feeling better soon.
