I got an Earth-shattering KABOOM!

So, why am I awake this early on my bloody day off?
Blame the drunk driver. About 0430 I was brought to wakefulness by the squeal of brakes, followed by one massive collision. Several secondaries came in rapid succession. Oh boy, I get to call 911. Again.
So, from what I gleaned from listening to the police and fire people, a drunk driver came racing along, either up Almaden Expressway and was trying to turn into Via Monte, or he was turning from Via Monte onto the expressway, when he completely lost control and smashed into a line of parked cars in front of our building. One of the trucks there is totaled. The bed is half the width it was, and the rear axle is twisted. This impact caused a chain reaction; resulting in damage to at least three other vehicles. The drunk, his car now much shorter, ended up about 30 feet from the impact site facing the wrong way. Being an idiot, he ran, but was spotted by the fire engine responding to the numerous 911 calls. As far as I know, the cops grabbed him.
Right now, all that's out there is a tow truck hauling away the suspect's car. I imagine the city will be sending out a cleaning crew to deal with all the broken glass.
*sigh*
I was planning on sleeping in today...
