1. What time did you get up this morning? 0457. Old habit from my Army days, I always wake up a few minutes before my alarm goes off.
2. Diamonds or pearls? I'm really not into jewelery. But of the two, diamonds. Preferably in a Giants World Series victory ring.
3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema? King Kong, which I loved.
4. What's your favorite TV show? Lacking cable currently, I'll go from memory. Countdown with Keith Olbermann
5. What did you have for breakfast this morning? A Coke.
6. What's your favorite cuisine? Tex-Mex
7. What foods do you dislike? Veggies. Anything with heavy sauces.
8. What is your favorite chip flavor? Doritos' Spicy Nacho
9. What's your favorite CD at the moment? Iron Maiden - Live After Death
10. What kind of car do you drive? A 1993 Ford Taurus
11. Favorite sandwich? Deviled Ham.
12. What characteristics do you despise? Willful Ignorance, Hypocrisy. Disloyalty.
13. What is your favorite type of clothing? Jeans and a t-shirt.
14. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go? Europe, Antarctica, South Africa
15. What color is your bathroom? White, allegedly.
16. Favorite brand of clothing? Clothing comes in brands?
17. Where would you retire to? Santa Cruz.
18. Favorite time of the day? Dawn
19. What was your most memorable birthday? My 30th, because I made it.
20. Where were you born? Good Samaritan Hospital, Los Gatos, California.
21. Favorite sport to watch? Baseball.
22. Who do you least expect to send this back to you? Since this is being posted in my LJ, I have no expectations.

24. What laundry detergent do you use? All Free and Clear.
25. Were you named after anyone? Ever male in my family, going back a long time, has been named "Douglas." Most have it as one of their middle names, but we privileged few bear it up front.
26. Do you wish on stars? I wish for them.
27. When did you last cry? Probably the last time I saw Rent
28. Do you like your handwriting? Hell no.
29. If you were another person, would YOU be friends with you? Depends on who I was. If I could stand the know-it-all sarcasm, sure.
30. Are you a daredevil? Not anymore
31. Do looks matter? To some extent. We are a visual species.
32. How do you release anger? Screaming. In private.
33. Where is your second home? SBC Park, home of the San Francisco Giants.
34. What were your favorite toys as a child? Plastic Army Men, Micronauts, and clothes pins. (I'd twist them apart. The halves looked a bit like race cars, so I'd carefully draw number sand designs on them and have races.)
35. What class in high school was totally useless? All of them, from my point of view.
37. Favorite movies? The American President, A Bridge Too Far, Patton, Ran, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Great Escape, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings (entire trilogy)
38. What are your nicknames? Thug Doug (nickname at work), Duck, Penguin.
39. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off? Yes. My steel-toed work shoes sort of require it.
40. Do you think that you are strong? Physically? Not as strong as I used to be, but I'm getting better. Intellectually/Emotionally? Very strong.
41. What's your favorite ice cream flavor? Chocolate Fudge from Baskin-Robbins
42. What are your favorite colors? Black and Red.
43. What is your least favorite thing about yourself? My ability to cope and adapt.
