Niners sweep St Louis for the first time in years, and have now exceeded last year's win total. Poor Alex Smith still hasn't thrown a TD pass, but at least he held onto the ball and has a win in a game he started.

The real story was our rushing game, Frank Gore and Maurice Hicks combined for 178 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground. Hicks, on the first play of the game broke a simple rush for a 73 yard touchdown.

This is why I say that even if the Niners end up with the number 1 pick (which isn't likely,) we shouldn't bother with Reggie Bush. We have decent rushers, we just lack a good, solid offensive line that can open the holes they need. We also need something to shore up our defense.

Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] aurictech, for the coal in your football stocking.

There's something seriously wrong with the scores today!! Cincinatti lost, the Giants lost, Indy's behind in the 2nd... The only things holding the universe together is the fact that the Raiders are losing!!

Is Indy playing any of the starters, or are they into "we've got home field advantage, let's not get hurt" mode.

Mostly the 2nd stringers. And Tony Dungy's son committed suicide a couple of days ago.
