Designs submitted in a contest for new Swiss currency.

Wow. And it would be a stone-col bitch to forge as well.

The other entries are equally stunning.

Nope - Switzerland and Norway aren't even in the EU. The way to remember who in the EU uses the Euro is "BAFFLING PIGS": Belgium, Austria, Finland, France, Luxembourg, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain.

And last time I was in the Netherlands for a weekend, I managed to pick up coins from all of the above, including complete sets of Dutch, Belgian and French.

Bah.

All this fuss and nonsense over preventing forging. Go back to gold and silver. Easy to verify, almost impossible to forge now that we have modern tech to check with. And it's actually worth something, which the paper isn't.

Love it love it: that Earth map on the back of the 100 is a Fuller Dymaxion Projection.

And I really dig the idea of a 3D interstellar map on the back of the 1000. (Someone tell Winchell Chung!) What is that, a ten light-year scale? Would make sense: 1000 cubic LYr.
