gridlore: Doug looking off camera with a grin (Me - PODS)

It was my impression, based on what we were told by the owner and chairman of the company, that the winter was a slow time for PODS, Inc. Fewer people moving, fewer people doing renovations. We were given visions of days spent mostly in the warehouse repairing pods or working on online classes.

Ha.

In the last week, there was one day where I worked less than ten hours. Three of those days passed the 12 hour mark. And Monday I have to be in at 0600 because we have 52 fricking jobs scheduled.

By my best guess, I have about 4 hours coming on the next check that count as double time. That's $24.96 an hour, friends. Plus at least 10 hours of regular overtime ($18.72/hour). Plus my regular 40 hours.

Yeah, this check is going to rock. Hopefully, I'll be awake enough to enjoy it.

Still... it beats not working. I'd rather be working my butt off then sitting round staring at the walls.

Then again my usual week is north of 45 hours anyway.

Oh, I agree completely, its just that this sudden volume of work caught us completely off guard.

It doesn't help that one of our drivers is in Mexico dealing with a family emergency and one of Hayward's is on the Gulf Coast doing hurricane relief. Extremely busy and short-handed are not a good combination.

Things will slow down soon enough. Enjoy getting your finances back in shape!
