From the home office in my collection of splenuncles, we get:

1. Have you ever been to the emergency room? Many times.

2. What's the worst pain you've ever had? A complete blood clot in my major portal vein (the big vein that drain the lower half of your body.) I was in complete agony, couldn't uncurl from the fetal position, and it took a shitload of morphine to get me any relief at all.

3. If you could choose your doctor, do you prefer someone of the same or opposite sex? It doesn't matter to me. Competence and the ability to listen are what matter to me when choosing a medical professional.

4. Do you take vitamins? Yes. A multivitamin everyday, along with a couple of Omega-3 capsules and a fiber pill.

5. Would you prefer to go to the doctor, the dentist or go sky diving? Prefer? Lead me to the jump line, baby!

What's a splenuncle? It googlewhacks, so no help there.

When one has their spleen removed, the remaining bits of tissue are called splenuncles. Normally, they are inert blobs of lymphatic tissue.

But mine were growing, and actually starting to do a spleen's work last time we looked.

This really annoyed my doctor. Humans aren't supposed to regrow major organs.
