Pulling into my last job of the day I accidentally dragged one of the Podzilla towers over this nice lady's balcony railing. No major damage, but I did scrape the hell out of it, and it looked like I bent one of the rails out of place. Hey, it happens.
Sad thing was, I had to cut the turn the way I did to avoid hitting the pod I put there the the other day. Oops. Call Da Boss, leave a business card with the lady, and head back to the warehouse. Where I find out that someone is claiming I hit the other building as well! Nightsoil of oxen, say I. For one thing, when a truck weighing in at close to six tons hits something, you hear it. That's how I know I hit that balcony.. it sounded like Satan's own xylophone. But just to be sure after work I grabbed a disposable camera and went back to the scene, and shot 27 photos of the damage and every damn balcony along the entryway. I didn't hit that building anywhere. I even checked Podzilla for paint transfer. Nothing.
While I'm ranting.. I'm getting tired of people assuming that the size minimums don't apply to them. We need at least 18' length, 12' width, and 15' of top clearance to drop a pod. Today, my first drop site had a utility cable hanging so low I could almost touch it. How this customer didn't notice a two-inch thick insulated cable coming directly over her driveway is beyond me.
Ah, well. I'm home, have tomorrow off, and there is cold beer in the fridge.
