The Rime of the Ancient Mariner

It is an ancient Mariner,
And he stoppeth one of three.
'By thy long beard and glittering eye,
Now wherefore stopp'st thou me ?

The Bridegroom's doors are opened wide,
And I am next of kin;
The guests are met, the feast is set:
May'st hear the merry din.'

He holds him with his skinny hand,
'There was a ship,' quoth he...

For some amusement, read the lyrics to Iron Maiden's take on the Rime.

My all-time favorite poem is Dante's Inferno, which you can read online.

What can I say, I like epic poems.

On the live video of "Rime", Bruce Dickenson starts the song by sitting on the speaker stacks and saying "This is what not to do when a bird shits on you" in his perfect English accent. That song rocks!
