Was cut short because my boss Sergio (who I really like, he's great) simply had too much going on to deal with two newbies. So we ran trough the orientation, filled out paperwork, and got a look at some of the toys I'll get to use.

Some details. Pay is $12.00, with COL raises in October and biannual reviews. There are also bonuses for things like safe driving and taking extra work. Full benefits with a variety of packages. Pay is weekly, with direct deposit (yay!)

Tomorrow on through Friday, I'm riding along with an experienced driver to get a feel for the job. Then Sunday I fly down to San Diego for training. Details as soon as I get them.

Excellent. I am always surprised at the places that don't do direct deposit. With my employer is is required as they have people distributed over several states and don't want to mess with trying to get checks to them on time.

i have been wondering what POD means.
benefits are GOOD things. i have been relying on my health, dental, and auto insurance bennies from my work to such an extent thath i am terrified of the day when i will have to change jobs.
and weekly pay is also a plus. if i ever had to go back to monthly pay, i think i would die.

Portable On Demand Storage, if I remember correctly.

(The fact that "'Pods" was already in use by the Miskatonic University Fighting Cephalopods seems somehow to have been overlooked by the current owners, but I'm sure Gridlore will fill in any gaps in their arcane knowledge...)

Speaking of things 'zilla like...the latest (and possibly last) Godzilla movie has the atomic lizard stomping not a miniature Tokyo, but a miniature Sydney(Australia).

Good to see the big guy getting some holiday time.

If the training schedule while you're down here in SD leaves free time in the evenings and you want to hang, let me know.
