OK, I need to go wash out my brains...

Following links about this stupid Frienditto thing, I came across a list of users and communities that had been archived. Out of curiosity, I checked out some of the communities. My conclusions?
1. The average emotional age on LiveJournal hovers around 12, with occasional drops into the Terrible Twos.
2. People really need to get over furries.
3. 90% of the shit going on seems to be caused by about five people with about twenty LJs each.
4. Reading the conservative communities made me want to own guns. Lots of them. These people are rabid. The liberal comms are no better.

I was once a member of one of larger Democract communities. Someone ranted about how awful the Electoral College system is. I attempted to explain the reasoning behind it, and that devoting all this time and energy to getting it changed would be better spent on an issue there's actually a chance of being affected. There are a lot more small states than big ones, and they're not going to give up the influence that the EC grants them. After the second response that would have required invoking Godwin's law, I dumped the community.
