..that I doubt people on my friends list have done.

1. Ridden a motorcycle across the United States
2. Had surgery while almost fully dressed.
3. Watched Sister Act 2 a dozen times in three weeks.
4. Seen a meteorite hit the ground.
5. Sank an armored vehicle in 12 feet of water
6. Carried an automatic weapon through an airport and onto a commercial airliner.
7. Slept in a building that dated back a thousand years.
8. Followed the Grateful Dead on tour.
9. Had a police officer light a joint for me.
10. Had 15 tarantulas crawling on me at once.

Actually, I've done #7 while I was travelling through Spain.

Oh, me too! Which building were you in, do you recall? Isn't it breath-taking to realize a particular human-created object is older... than your country?

Also, re #6, I did that once with a machete, and crossed international borders while doing so. Does that count? ;)

Two, if memory serves, one a castle and the other a monastery, both of which had been converted to motels. (Although I think if I remember correctly that the monastery did still have some monks living in it.) Couldn't tell you the names to save my life, but then again, Spain is dotted by castles and Roman architecturre, so it could have been one of any dozen cities/villages in the southwestern section of the country, which is what I toured.

Sounds lovely. Mine was in the area of Barcelona, when we lived there while I was a kid. I miss Spain... but I think it's the Spain of my childhood I miss. It's gotten much, much more commercialized and touristy now, I've been reliably informed.

I did it in Thailand.

I'm curious about #5, but something tells me that I really don't want to know...

I've heard it. It's amusing (now).
#6 and #9 are the ones that have me curious.

At Fort Benning we were driving along in a M-113 APC, and drove out onto a pond. While we were moving, the reeds held us up (almost), but when we stopped, we started to sink.

Thank Ghu I was only a passenger.

I've almost done number #6 - it was from an Aussie airbase, not an airport, but the plane was commercial.

And does minor knee surgery count - I've had that while fully dressed.

I'm curious as heck about #9. #10 would kill me. I would totally freak out and quite possibly tear off all my clothes and run screaming off into the night...never to be seen again.

#9 was after the Loma Prieta earthquake. I was at the Cypress Structure, and covered in oil and gas.

#10.. I came close, but a friend of ours was a spider wrangler, and talked me into it.

Re your #10: AAAAAAAAAAAH! (as noted in my #10 in my "Animal-related Stuff" here (http://www.livejournal.com/users/collie13/23695.html)! Sheesh... with friends like those, who needs enemies?! ;)

#2, they knocked me out when they removed my wisdom teeth. The surgeon took one look at me and said "We'll be completely sedating you."

This was actual knife and stitches cutting in my groin. kirsten was in the room. We refer to it as the "drive-by operation." It removed an inflamed bt of tissue from along one of the chains of lymph nodes.
