gridloreI've been playing with Heromachine. The new edition is one hell of a lot of fun.
Sunturion
Sunturion is a mutant, capable of producing amazing bursts of energy that manifest as light and heat. The suit helps him control his powers, and provvides protection. He lets the world believe that the powers come from the suit; which has left more than one villian with a shocked look as a suitless Sunturion blasted his way out of a trap.
Doctor Arcane
A master of art of illusion, Arcane's main power is his ability to create powerful illusions in the mind of his enemies. These illusions are convincing enough to actually cause injury (for example, by making the victim think he was on fire.) He can also teleport, read minds, and has several magical items that allow him to fly, project a force field, and a dagger that does a nice job of banishing extra-dimensional baddies.
Iron Horse
What do you get when you cross a Vietnam veteran biker with his 1947 Harley in a magical accident? Try a seven-foot, one ton ass-kicking machine. Along with bencvhing several tons, Iron Horse is faster than he looks, and shrugs off most attacks. Even if you do manage to hurt him, he can regenerate damage as long as he's in contact with the ground. "Iron Horse" is his legal name, he had it changed after the accident. No point in trying to keep your identity secret when you skin has metallic highlites!
The Reaper
Robert Lamont Cranston lost his parents when he was six, and was sent to live with his paternal grandfather, Lamont. The old man was cool enough, and let young Rob take martial arts courses, but Grandpa was kind of spooky. When Robert turned 15, the elder Cranston revealed the truth.. he was the infamous Shadow, hero of the thirties and forties. And he intended Robert to take his place. Then the training really began...
Robert Cranston is a lawyer, working for the San Francisco DA as an investigator. At night, he dones the gear he and his grandfater designed and fights crime as the Reaper. Among the things Robert learned was the power to cloud men's minds, allowing him my attck with surpise most of the time. He's also learned the mystic art of shadow walking, allowing him to teleport as long as both his origin and destination are in shadows.
The Reaper fights a one-man war against the groups DEMON and VIPER. He is a member of the Bay Guardians in name, but rarely attends meetings, finding the group too high profile for his methods.
