Gannon's Enemies List

Jeff Gannon is considering suing liberal interest groups, bloggers and others for a "political assassination" that drove him from his job as a reporter for a conservative news outfit called Talon News, he told NEWSWEEK. Gannon, whose real name is James Guckert, singled out Media Matters -- a "well-funded" liberal group headed by longtime "attack dog" David Brock. ("Everything we wrote about him came from the public record," Brock replied.)

It remains unclear how Gannon got routine White House press access for nearly two years; he acknowledged he first began getting clearance to White House press briefings in early 2003 as a representative of GOPUSA, a group headed by Texas GOP activist Bobby Eberle-months before Eberle even created Talon News. Gannon said he had no access to White House aides outside the press room, nor did he try to interview any. When President Bush called on him at a press conference last month-during which he asked a question with false info about Sen. Harry Reid-"nobody was more surprised than myself," said Gannon.

"Gannon" is a male prostitute, Republican shill, and known liar.

If he doesn't like these facts, he can sue me. I'd love to see him on the stand, under oath, explaining a few things...

Well, it's looking like someone in the White House feed him classified information about the attack on Iraq, since he was using the "Shock and Awe" line days before the Pentagon announced the tactic. He's also been named in the ongoing investigation into who outed Valerie Plame.

Then there's the fact that his first daily press credential was issued when he worked for GOPUSA.. a lobbying group. Talon News didn't even exist.

Finally, we have mountains of evidence, most of it written by "Gannon" himself, that he's a male prostitute. An expensive one, catering to people with a military fetish. I don't have a problem with that, but for this guy to turn around and support to most anti-gay President in history makes me sick.

Anyway, it's Gannon who's threatening lawsuits because people dug a little and found out the truth. It's all hot air from the Hot Military Stud, since he would have to show that the information was not only false, but had caused him financial or professional harm.

The main thing about this scandal that amazes me is that either nobody bothered checking him out (I wonder if I could get a press pass) and allowed this person access to the West Wing with no background check, or the White House knew who he was, and kept him around specifically to pass lowball questions. Either way, it's bad.

So he had some contacts. Most media types do, even ones from 4th rate wannabe places like Talon.

His access to the White House was limited to the press room. He didn't have unfettered access to the West Wing. Certainly much less of an issue than the flocks of people who had full access during the early Clinton years without any kind of background checks.

So he pitched a softball question. Go back and look at any interview with the Clintons or Al Gore by Larry King, NPR, or the majority of their face to face questioning by the media. An overhand pitch was the rare exception.

So, it seems his biggest crime is that he is deemed to be a traitor to his sexuality.

You know, nobody seems to be talking about crimes but you.

The point of this is that a person was given access to the West Wing and treated as a reporter when he was actually a prostitute working for a lobbying group! The hypocrasy alone is amazing, and what it says about the Bush adminstration's integrity (especially when you add in the payoffs to conservative pundits) is pretty damning.

I didn't start the crime theme, you said that you would love to see him on the stand, under oath. That implies some kind of crime.
Just what crime did he commit? Impersonating a reporter? If that was crime, Jayson Blair would have been charged.

If your issue is that he also worked at a prostitute (which involes sex and free enterprise, which are you opposed to?), would you also complain about a woman reporter who marketed her body on the side? Chuck Berry was a hairdresser, but that didn't stop him from being a musician as well.

Access to the press room != access to the West Wing. Ya, it's a 4th rate news agency with ties to lobbying groups. Condemn him for being a punk-ass wannabe reporter in over his head. Calling him out because he has sex with other men for money just seems petty.

The post was about Gannon's intent to sue people for writing abount him, his lack of credentials, his escort service.. you know, facts?

Hence the title of my post "Sue me, jerkoff". A suit would be heard in a courtroom, and in a civil suit for libel "Gannon" would have to testify to establish the harm caused by people telling the truth about him.

Nobody ever even mention a criminal charge, although if he turns out to be Bob Novak's source on Valerie Plame, things change. Exposing a CIA agent is a felony.

What I find interesting is the screaming about his being a homosexual prostitute. If he had being shilling for the other side and this much fuss was made over that fact, he'd have lawyers lining up to help him pursue a case of "Hate Speech" against him.
