I finally heard from programming, I will be a guest this year.
They've set up a webpage for guests to enter information and express interests. Nice thing is, I have until April 8th to make changes, if necessary. Here's my bio:
"Doug Berry" is actually a ingenious clockwork robot, crewed by a crack team of fairy penguins. In this guise they have authored several books for the venerable RPG Traveller, including At Close Quarters, Ground Forces, and the upcoming Trojan Reach sourcebook.
The penguins have created an air-tight legend for the Doug-bot, including service in the US Army as an infantryman and surviving cancer. Along with writing, they use this infernal device to destroy Coca-Cola supplies. When not spreading terror it is hangered in San Francisco with it's "wife" Kirsten, roommate Rose, and a elite platoon of teddy bears.
Now assuming that con actually lasts the whole four days, this should be a good one.

Date: 6 Apr 2002 23:05 (UTC)At least, RPG writers willing to admit it in public. :) There are some pros around, but they don't normally do cons unless it is a gaming con and they are there pushing product.
I'm trying to think of the local RPG people who go to BayCon every year.. there's me, Kevin Murphu and James Milligan. Jesse DeGraff is also a regular, but he's an artist, so he doen't count.
Or we could just count this as a small victory in the never-ending fued between Gamers and Filkers.

Date: 7 Apr 2002 00:53 (UTC)Last year they took me up on it.
In addition to the usual computer/internet panels, I was on a "When characters take control" (where it finally connected that Filk Maya is Writer Maya) and "Queer as Fen" which I bailed on as I thought I would have input. (Turns out I was supposed to be the token straight.)
