Though ANY online service should be checked regularlly to see if they have decided to change things such as this.

Another reason not be using IE. I use Opera and Firefox, and use the nifty feather that clears out all cookies at the end of each session.
So, once you log out of Yahoo, clear out your cookies and the sites using the Yahoo web beacons shouldn't recognize you as a yahoo user to trace.
