Final preseason game. Last play of the first half, Donovan McNabb gets sacked.. and breaks his shoulder.
He's out for the season. My backup QB is only about 30 points below McNabb's rating. And my pass defense is still weak. I see a lot of ball control and runs in my future. The good thing is I have a Pro Bowl fullback who can always pick up 3 or 4 yards, so passing on 3rd and short isn't a requirement. That will spread the defense in those situations.
Urlacher is a machine, and I've got him tied up in a long-term contract. I'm running a lot of 3-4 formations, except on passing downs when I run 4-3 blitzes or the nickel most times. Depending on how my retirement situation looks at the end of the year, I may try to pick up a couple of good pass rushers in free agency or in the draft.
