He is one of two authors who I buy immediately when their works come out. The other is David Weber. Turtledove has made the alternate history genre his.

My list of "buy on sight" authors is rather large. And a few authors have dropped off it (for example, I gave up on Keith Laumer about 10 years back)-:

John you have to ask yourself this. You've had a good run in the military, done your duty, and done it well. At this point, is going AWOL that bad a thing?
