The commission investigating the 11 September 2001 attacks on the US has found no "credible evidence" that Iraq helped al-Qaeda carry them out.

The statement was published before the bipartisan commission began the final two-day public session.

It contradicts Monday's remarks by the US vice-president about Saddam Hussein "long-established ties" with al-Qaeda.

Gee. Can I say it now?

Thanks.

WE TOLD YOU SO!!!

Ah, but Oceania has always been at war with Eurasia, and we liberated Iraq not because of Saddam's WMDs or 9/11, but because he was a bad bad man who cruelly oppressed his people.

(Just like we've been doing in his place... no, wait, Abu Ghraib was an anomaly. Not the America we know. Nope.)

But hey, the oil flows into Haliburton's coffers, and that's what really matters, right?

Oil? Where?

If the United States really wanted to invade a country for oil, why not Canada? They're our biggest supplier, and it's surely easier to invade a country with whose border is not defended.

Of course, then we'd be getting hit with back bacon bombs and maple syrup missiles. We could always clean up the syrup with the waffles politicions always seems to have.

mmmm....waffles...drool...
