With my right ankle swollen up to about the size of a healthy orange. I have no idea why it is this big, but there it is.

My idiot boss was supposed to call me back about occupational health, but he hasn't been in all day. Moron. The situation wasn't helped by the fact that I had to work late two nights in a row because the guy who relieves me simply cannot get the idea that he is supposed to be there at 1700. Not 1900. Not 1730. But right at 1700.

Which brings me to another fuming point. The phrase "it's all good." Forgive me if this sounds racist, but it seems that I only hear that from lazy African-Americans. It seems to ignore the fact that the reason I am pissed of is because things aren't "all good."

I heard this when I was working for Super Shuttle from drivers who seemed to think that it excused any fuck-up, no matter how bad, and now the guard I have to wait on seems to think that making me work late is somehow "good." Well, it isn't, and I will enjoy the day I find out he's been fired.

So here I sit. Dealing with the fact that I work for, and with, complete morons, feeling pretty crappy all around. Hopefully, the swelling will go down a bit before I have to go to work tomorrow.

Comment one: Morons

Comment two: I use "it's all good" alot, usualy when I've been griping about something. as in "bitchbithcbitchbitch *shrug* it's all good" It's kinda the Eleri equivilant of "oh well" or "ces't la vie" It means it's out of my hands, and I need to quit whining.

I use the phrase "It's all good," but not the way you describe. I use it with people who have caused me difficulties to mean "yeah, there was a problem, but we have resolved it and there is no need to apologize to me any more." I certainly don't use it as a conversation closer when I'm the one who fucked up unless the other person uses it first.

I guess I use the phrase "It's all good" in yet another way which the first 2 respondents do not...Particularly, [livejournal.com profile] joedecker and I use it when discussing different kinds of relationships, and attending play parties vs. having sex in a deeply committed relationship: We say it doesn't matter what it is -- it's all good. Translation: It all depends on what makes you happy; floats your boat. So, yet another way to look at this phrase...

I've used it the same way you describe as well ("whatever floats your boat"), come to think of it. Nice, flexible phrase, that.
