gridloreThe news is talking about the Tyco mistrial. They're listing some of the excesses the ex-CEO's excesses. The $2 million birthday party didn't really phase me, but one item literally stopped me dead in mid-type.
A $15,000 umbrella stand.
Gods and Devils, do any of you know what we could do with 15 grand? Fix our car, and insure it. Pay rent for a year. Get my teeth fixed, or any of a dozen other things. Hell, Kirsten and I could take an actual, go somewhere together as tourist, vacation.
An umbrella stand. Why the fuck do you need an umbrella stand that cost more than some economy cars? It was an ugly piece of crap as well.
Were I in NYC, and had a good rifle, I'd gut-shot the bastards so they felt it, then blow their brains out. There are families of four that live on less than that for a year.
