The ten random songs meme

Simple idea, really, start your mp3 play on random, write down the first ten songs that come up, and analyze them a bit.
Here we go!
1. Metallica - The Thing That Should Not Be
Great song, based on H.P Lovecraft's writings. Very dark and brooding. This was incredible when played with the SF Symphony.
2. The Grateful Dead - Ballad of A Thin Man
Off Portrait of the Hanging, a collection of the Dead doing Dylan tunes. Typical strange Dylan lyrics, and it gives Jerry a line he can noodle around with. Nice slow toe-tapper.
3. The Kinks - A Rock and Roll Fantasy
One of my favorite Kinks songs (and that's saying something) this song written when the band was on the verge of breaking up is a great love song to music.
4. Motley Crue - Sam Ol Situation
Party with the original hair metal band. A show rocks when they play this. Hell I'm singing along now!
5. Mott the Hoople - All the Young Dudes
Written by Bowie, has a strong organ line, and it's just plain good!
6. Blue Oyster Cult - Veteran of the Psychic Wars
Loved BOC since I was a tiny little headbanger. This is one of those stunning, beautifully imagined, driving songs that makes you nod your head in time. (I still don't have Joan Crawford Has Risen From the Grave on mp3 yet.)
7. Tom Smith - Superman Sex Life Boogie
Some filk had to come up some time! Fun little song about, well..
8. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication
RHCP isn't my favorite band, but I like their stuff, but this is a beautiful song about my home state.
9. Tom T-Bone Stankus - Existential Blues
I'm weird, he's weird, and I think we booth taken too much LSD.
10. Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun
It has fascinating lyrics, good music, and one of the strangest videos ever to play on MTV. I like it, a lot.
