Damn my respiratory system!

After missing last night's shift due to chronic hiccups (close to 20 straight hours, with only short breaks.. my throat was burn raw and I eventually threw up because of the reflexive actions.) I awoke this morning with a cold. Sniffily, stuffed up.

I bloody hate winter.

kightp strongly recommends Zicam (http://www.zicam.com/) (zinc in an inert gel -- you spread it inside your nose and it makes it more difficult for the rhinovirus to settle in) to reduce severity and duration of colds. I haven't tried it, but she swears by it.
