If my house is on fire, I don't care WHO arrives to help me put it out... and this is a frelling VOLUNTEER organization. The volunteer organizations in NYS are dwindling.. (I'm sure it's not just localized to the frozen north east...)
Now my parents had something nothing quite like this at their department in East Chatham NY... They had a repeat sex offender who figured his "problem" had nothing to do with putting out fires... However since he is not to be within 50' of a minor, they had to ask him to leave... it wasn't pretty, but all is good now...
