Yet another group of religious nutcases are trying to sneak religion into the schools by making the KJV Bible a textbook.

Spread the word far and wide, my fellow Californians. If you are approached by someone with one of these petitions, ask them is the Quaran will also be taught based on it's historical value.

Hmmm. I took a "Bible as Literature" class twenty years ago in high school, although the school system didn't provide me with a Bible. I suspect that it's one thing to observe that secular study of the Bible is constitutional, and quite another thing to try to maneuver the public schools into being required to provide Bibles to the students.

Certainly sounds like a good amendment to defeat.

Were I dedicated to the destruction of Christianity in California, this proposition would, if passed, be a figurative Godsend.

Consider: What better way to marginalize Christian faith than to have children spend a significant amount of time studying the Bible, under the instruction of those inclined (or possibly required) to teach from a secular point of view?
