Well, it was my day off...

While trying to get the apartment in half-way decent shape for dinner tonight, I got a call from Cost Plus.
"Doug? It's Trissene.. can you please come in and work a few hours? We are swamped!"
So I did a little over five hours. This means that in the last seven days, I have worked
Thursday, Dec 18 1200-1700
Friday, Dec 19 1930-0030
Tuesday, Dec 23, 1550-2100
and today, 1000-1900.
Nobody can claim that I'm not doing my bit for my corporate masters!
I am wondering one thing.. anybody know California law on time between shifts? Is it 8 hours or 10? Because if it's ten, I'm going to get 8 hours of double time pay for that Sunday shift.
Luckily, there's no way in hell they can schedule me for tomorrow; the store is closed. But Friday? 0400-1300. Yup, four in the blessed AM. Guess we have a lot of set up to do.

Date: 25 Dec 2003 08:59 (UTC)But this is nothing but the facts.. I wasn't made to come in, I was asked, and chose to do so on my own. If I really feel the need to rant, I shall friends-lock that. Nothing in this post that I haven't already discussed with my managers.
And I've used the "corporate masters" line at work, it always gets a laugh.
I can see your point, so anything inflammatory will be locked.
