My new long-term survival goal

New Horizons will reach Pluto-Charon and the Kuiper Built in 2015.

I will live to see this mission. I'll be 49. And, if things go a little better, I'll have a degree in either geology or astronomy to help me understand the results.

Same here. I've been rooting for the Pluto Express for a long time now.

That didn't do any good for the DC-X... sigh.

Meanwhile, if this story (http://www.nationalreview.com/comment/powell200312030858.asp) turns out to be accurate, President Bush may well plan a jump-start to further space exploration, possibly leading to a permanent Lunar presence.
