Trying to put off going to work for as long as possible, I'm doing my morning mail/news run. Hal tells me I have a message. It's spam, of course. The subject is:

YOU DESERVE TO LIVE GOODLIFE

Aiee! I've just been re-reading Saberhagen's Berserker stories! They've found me! They want me to work for them!

I wonder how much they pay?

Be careful. The pay may look good, but wandering fleets of world-ravaging giant robot startships seldom offer a decent medical plan. And the hours they expect out of you! Not to mention that "termination of employment" usually involves an airlock and a shove.
