Surviving the first cut
Date: 12 Jan 2002 20:54 (UTC)I'd DEFINITELY mention the "cancer survivor" thing because that'll give you a boost up over other candidates. Wear a Grateful Dead t-shirt or something military and be sure to mention your involvement with both. There are other things I would mention if I were you, but I don't know how open you are about such stuff.
As for where, I'd pick a location that's a little quirky. In SF you've got lots of really cool places for outdoor shots, so I'd take advantage of them if I were you. My first choice would be somewhere in the Castro district, especially if non-vanilla-looking people keep coming up to you and greeting you in a way that makes it obvious they're your friends.
