Date: 5 Sep 2003 14:43 (UTC)I haven't been able to actually sit down and play for some time. But when I can, I love Traveller (any version), Champions, RuneQuest.. I'd love to get a chance to play in a D&D3e game.

2. Why did you originally decide to friend me?
I wanted to learn who you really were, as opposed to who my friends, back in the day, told me you were.
3. What's your favorite part of my journal?
Reading about about you, and your day to day challenges, the successes and the letdowns and how you deal with it all.
4. What's your least favorite part of my journal?
Silly Quizzes. (this is a fairly standard answer I would have regarding anyone's journal. we all do them, but I think the entertainment value comes more from taking them oneself rather than reading others' results.)
5. Ask me a question. Be as random as you want.
Why penguins?
6. Have you ever met me in person?
Yes

Seriously, I did a report on them in the 7th grade, and have been fascinated with the little buggers ever since. Any genus that has invented prostitution is alright with me.

2. Why did you originally decide to friend me?
I've not yet made such a decision, Mr. Pushy.
3. What's your favorite part of my journal?
Since this is the first post I've read, I'll
have to go with this one for $500, Alex.
4. What's your least favorite part of my journal?
Ditto
5. Ask me a question. Be as random as you want.
When you were a child, how did your parents
refer to "passing gas"?
6. Have you ever met me in person?
Nope.

I honestly can't remember.

3. Memes and quizzes.
4. Your support for Other Teams [tm]. (At least you don't adhere to the Immature Ursine (http://www.foxsports.com/named/FS/MLB/team?statsId=16) heresy.)
5. Can analysis be worthwhile? (Bonus points if you can name the song from which that question came.)
6. Yes, once. If things work out as I hope and expect, OryCon (http://www.orycon.org/orycon25/) should be our second meeting in meatspace....

Bad news. I don't have the money, and hopefully will be working my new job. So OryCon is a wash for me this year.

Date: 5 Sep 2003 13:47 (UTC)Probably from you mentioning you had a journal on rec.arts.sf.fandom, back when I still had time to read rassf, and thinking you were interesting enough there that I'd probably find you interesting here.
2. Why did you originally decide to friend me?
Discovering that I was right about you being interesting enough here. :)
3. What's your favorite part of my journal?
Heh. I've actually commented on this to other folks. You've had some serious shit going on in your life lately, just like a lot of other people. And most folks whine and angst about the shit going on in their life, which gets tiresome. Not you. You get downright pissed off. Which is still drama, I guess, but at least it's a change of tone from the usual. :)
4. What's your least favorite part of my journal?
Dunno really. I'm sure you've posted things that didn't grab me as interesting to read, but I tend to just skip over them when I realize I'm not interested, just like everyone else, so that's not really indicitive of YOUR journal versus my own reading habits.
5. Ask me a question. Be as random as you want.
Why? Be specific.
6. Have you ever met me in person?
Nope, but you seem like someone I'd enjoy meeting, if I ever made it out to that coast (or indeed, you made it out to this one.)

3. Just about everything except the answer to No. 4.
4. The baseball stuff. It doesn't offend me or anything, I'm just not interested, so I skip it.
5. Why penguins?
6. To the best of my knowledge, no.

Date: 5 Sep 2003 17:00 (UTC)Now most penguins mate for the season, alternating egg and chick watching duties. But sometimes, the already mated female will go through the entire mating ritual with additional males just to get their pebbles. Poor guys don't know she's already laid eggs (or is close to doing so. They just, err.. get their rocks off while the male partner is off getting food. When he comes back, he chases off the interlopers. The poor duped penguins, taken in by these hussies, remain mateless for that season.

2. Why did you originally decide to friend me?
Because we're friends in RL.
3. What's your favorite part of my journal?
The stuff about how you are doing.
4. What's your least favorite part of my journal?

What is or are your least favorite Grateful Dead song(s)?

3. What's your favorite part of my journal?
That you're capable of putting words together in a manner my lizard brain finds pleasing.
4. What's your least favorite part of my journal?
That you're having difficulties. Not that it's a feature, but I know how shitty it is to look for work, so I empathize with it.
5. Ask me a question. Be as random as you want.
Y'ever been to Canada? And did you get my Christmas card about 10 years ago?
6. Have you ever met me in person?
