About an hour and a half about, UPS showed up with a package for me... my two authors copies of GURPS Traveller: Humaniti. So, what am I going to do with the two extras? Sign them and put them up on ebay?

Just now, the Post Offal came to the door. Back in Black is finally here! Headbanging in three.. two.. main engine start and

GONG.. GONG... GONG...

Extraordinarily belated re-happy birthday. :)

You'll love this, btw -- a few weeks ago the cat broke my alarm clock with a poorly executed leap from the chest of drawers. While waiting to get around to buying a new one, I fell back on using my PDA's alarm function instead. But the other day, I realized at midnight that the poor thing was critically low on batteries, so couldn't be counted on to wake me up.

Necessity is a mother. :) In a burst of creativity, I hit upon using the Win2k task scheduler on my downstairs computer to schedule Winamp playing a track at my wake-up time. With the right song and volume, it would make a fine alarm clock!

But what song? Ideally something that starts off calmly but with enough oomph to wake me up and give me time to get across the room to turn down the volume before things ramp up. You can probably guess what I chose. It's rather eerie to wake up in a nearly dark room to a deep, reverberant "bonnnnggggg.......bonnnnngggg....". I made it to the volume knob just as the guitar started.

Huh?

You turned down AC/DC? Why on Earth would you do that?

You should have heard the bell with our amps.. Tres cool. Anybody ever use Hells Bells for noisy hour at Mudd?

It was 6am, and:

(a) I wasn't ready for a guitar solo, even that one.

(b) [livejournal.com profile] laurellady is less of a morning person than I am, which is no mean feat. Annoying her unnecessarily at 6am is a truly crappy way to start the day.

Tomorrow, I'm going to try waking up to Yes's "Gates of Delirium". Not only will I have plenty of energy to get up, if I listen long enough I'll want to invade something. :)

Just include the Ebay Link in your LJ..... I may need to make a matched set of autographed books. ;)
