We seek it here, we seek it there.

So, yesterday afternoon
kshandra and I borrowed
dafydd's GPS unit and go Geocaching. We got a later start than I had hoped because Kirsten's body demanded that she catch up on some sleep. But she and I headed out around 1430.
If you haven't heard of this, here is how it works. People hide containers and set up way points for the Global Positioning System. They then post the coordinates and a brief description of the cache to the website I referenced above. You go out and find these sites, possibly taking one of the items from the cache and leaving something behind. I had downloaded and printed directions for three sites. Kirsten picked one, and we went of in search of the treasure.
Amusingly enough, we found that this first cache was across the street from my mom's place. It also involved an atrocious pun.
We then tried to find a virtual cache, but our brief course of instruction in the GPS did not include setting way points, so we had to give up on that one.
Our third attempt was foiled by problems with the signal. We looked all over the place, and couldn't find the bloody film cannister the cache was contained in.
One out of three. Not too great, but it was my first time (Kiri and David have done this before.)
I had a lot of fun, and this is something we will be doing again.
