Well, that was fun! I had to make a quick run down to Safeway, and on the way back, I witnessed an accident.
Coming out of the Safeway parking lot onto 17th Ave, I was nearly violated by the white Honda. That person had come across Taraval like the proverbial Bat out of Hell. At Santiago, I cam e to a complete stop, checked for runners, and rolled. Bat came across right on my tail, no stop at the stop sign. At Rivera, cross traffic doesn't stop, so I made damn sure nobody was coming before moving. Once again, Bat is practically driving up my tail pipe.
At Quintara, I have to make a left turn. (We live on 19th Avenue and Quintara) Bat behind me signals for a right. There isn't room for us her to come alongside me and move when I do, so I check for traffic (like Rivera, no stop sign in their direction.) and notice another white car going in the opposite direction.
Bat of course, doesn't bother to look, but instead immediately floors it into her right turn and...
**CRASH**
I saw the whole thing in my rearview mirror. I flip a U turn at 18th Ave. And go check to see if anyone is hurt. Nobody was, thankfully, but Bat is on her feet screaming at the top of her lungs about what an awful driver the other guy is, and how she had the right of way (bullshit, of course. She was at a stop sign. It was her responsibility to wait until traffic was clear.) She also started blaming me because I was "making her late" by following traffic laws. The person who had hit the Batmobile and I started talking, and I gave him my business card. "If you need any help, call me. She was at fault, she made that right without stopping or looking."
This set Bat, and her daughter(?) off again. They were threatening to sue me. I told them to go right ahead. That stopped them.
Stupid drivers. God must have loved them, because He made a hell of a lot of them.
