This upcoming move has gotten me very stressed because I'm the one who does most of the packing. No slam at [livejournal.com profile] kshandra here, I'm just better at this sort of thing. I don't mind, I'm happy to be able to help.

But this time we are moving a lot of junk. Not just our bed set and few boxes, but four rooms worth of stuff. It has become overwhelming to the point where even when I relax, I find myself looking at things and trying figure out if we are keeping it and where I can pack it.

So, I've changed my tactics. I'm doing one room at a time, and not stopping until I've made that room look like a plague of furniture and book loving locusts have hit it. First up, the office. So far, so good. The only thing I'm leaving to Kiri is the pile of papers on the desk.

I appreciate the hell out of what you're doing, angel, and will help as best I can, I promise.

*hugs*

Sounds like the way to pack that Spider Robinson described in "Callahan's Key."

Tackle a room at a time. A wall at a time. Other then protecting breakables or valuables, don't do any sorting or culling. Just pack.

Yeah you end up with more boxes to move, but when you're looking for a particular item, you can remember "master bed room, left wall" better then box 25 of 55.
