What a surprise.

Off in the wilds of Usenet, someone made this comment while frothing about liberals and Democrats:

"The US has never won a war with a Democrat in office."

Maybe he's forgotten World War II and Korea? But these were such minor conflicts, I can see how he might have missed them.

Kosovo might be argued about as a victory or loss, but we did capture Slodoban Milosovic, which we have yet to manage to do with Bin Ladin.

The whole former Yugoslavia mess can be argued as a success, because the gencide attaempts by the Serbs stopped. By I don't count tham as wars. There weren't two large armed forces attempt to destroy each other. Instead, you have various foriegn armies sitting on ethnic militias and sayiong "oh, no you don't!"

The bombing of Serbia was needed to force a resolution.
